Farmers’ protests in several European countries have been weaponized to spread false or misleading claims to discredit political action against climate change and fuel deep-seated distrust towards the European Union, according to a report on climate disinformation related to the protests.
FactCRICIS aims to support fact-checkers in identifying and debunking disinformation campaigns related to climate change and other crises, fostering more rapid, impactful and coordinated responses within and across European borders.
European fact-checkers have joined forces to combat climate disinformation with the launch of Climate Facts Europe – a public database and alert system supported by the European Climate Foundation.
Ahead of the 2024 European Parliament elections, Science Feedback has partnered with the European Fact-Checking Standards Network (EFCSN) and over 40 organizations to create Elections24Check – a comprehensive open database of fact-checks, debunks, and reports on disinformation narratives across the continent.
